Type of work · Websites
Most small businesses have a site somebody built once and then walked away from. It loads slowly on a phone, a number on it is out of date, and a page or two still describes work the company stopped doing years ago. Meanwhile it is the first thing a customer, a supplier or somebody applying for a job looks at before they call. We build it properly, connect it to the systems you already run, and keep it current afterward.
You do not need anything ready.
A site that does work, not just sits there.
Most sites are finished in two to four weeks, at a fixed price agreed before anything starts. Hosting, updates and support afterward run at a fixed monthly fee, quoted with the build. We do not bill by the hour.
Who it is for
The example is this one.
edenmillsoftware.com is built the way we build for clients. There is no content management system to keep patched and no plugins to break. It is plain files served from a network of servers around the world, so it opens in well under a second on a phone on a bad connection, and it costs almost nothing to run. Look at how quickly this page loaded and how it behaves on your phone. That is the work.
Common questions
Sometimes. If it is built on something maintainable and the problem is content or speed, fixing it is cheaper than replacing it and we will say so. If it is held together by twenty plugins that each need updating, rebuilding is usually cheaper within a year.
Usually not, and most small businesses are better off without one. A CMS is a piece of software that has to be patched, backed up and kept secure forever, and it is the most common way small business sites get broken into. If you need to change something you tell us and it is done. If you genuinely need to edit pages yourself every week, we will build for that instead.
Yes, where it fits the business. Online ordering, checkout and payment can be wired back into the system you already use, so an order placed on the site does not have to be retyped by somebody in the office.
Yes. Enquiry forms, quote requests and appointment booking can go straight to your inbox or your calendar. The point is that a message someone sends at nine at night is in front of you in the morning, not sitting in a form nobody checks.
It will be built so it can. Fast loading, clean structure, proper page descriptions and the markup that search engines and AI assistants read are part of the build rather than an extra. Ranking for competitive terms takes longer than a build does, and anyone who promises you a position is guessing.
