Eden Mill Software Book your free audit

Service area · Pennsylvania

South-central Pennsylvania runs on shops that outgrew their software.

York and Lancaster are an hour up I-83 from us, and they are dense with exactly the kind of business this work suits: job shops, metal fabricators, food and agricultural processors, family manufacturers into their second or third generation. The pattern repeats. A capable ERP bought a decade ago, a quoting process that lives in a spreadsheet, and somebody spending a day a week moving numbers between the two.

Where we go

An hour or so from Fallston, up the I-83 corridor.

  • York, Hanover, Red Lion and Dallastown
  • Lancaster, Lititz, Ephrata and Columbia
  • Shrewsbury, Glen Rock and the southern York County line
  • Anywhere else in the two counties worth the drive

What tends to be needed here

Manufacturing country, and the software problems that come with it.

  • Quote-to-actual reporting for job shops that price by the job
  • Connectors between an older ERP and QuickBooks
  • Inventory and job tracking that matches what is really on the floor
  • Order intake for distributors and wholesalers

Every build is a fixed price agreed before work starts, most finished in two to four weeks, hosted and supported by us afterward. The audit costs nothing. See what we build, by industry

How it works

The same five steps, wherever you are.

A thirty-minute call or a visit. Within five business days, a ranked written list of the repetitive work with hours per week, dollars per year and a fixed price against each item. You pick one, several or none — the list is yours either way.

Common questions

What people here ask first.

You are in Maryland. Does that matter?

Only for the drive, and it is about an hour. We are north of Baltimore rather than down in the city, so York is closer to us than a good deal of Maryland is.

Do you know manufacturing, or just software?

Fifteen years running operations at small companies before writing software commercially, in manufacturing among other things. The reason the audit produces a ranked list rather than a wish list is that somebody has to decide what is worth fixing, and that is a judgement about the business rather than about code.

Our ERP is old and nobody wants to replace it. Is that a problem?

No, and we would not suggest replacing it. Most of what we build sits alongside an existing system, reading from it and writing back where that is possible. Replacing an ERP is a year of pain for a small shop.

Other areas we cover: Harford & Baltimore County · New Castle County, DE. We also work remotely across Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Tell us what you’re still doing by hand.

Write to us. Two or three sentences is plenty: what the task is, who does it, and how often.

We read and answer every message ourselves.
